The goal of the Discover Wood Floors 2-Day Hands-On Training is to give participants the practical knowledge, hands-on experience, and confidence needed to successfully add one-day hardwood floor refinishing to their existing service business.
We’ll cover the entire process—from identifying the floor and determining if it’s a good candidate, to performing the service, pricing the job, and selling it to your customers.
Topics include:
- Wood Floor Identification – Flooring types, construction, and common wood species
- Principles of Floor Sanding – Understanding traditional sanding and refinishing
- Refinishing Options – Different methods and when each should be used
- One-Day Refinishing – A deep dive into the complete process from evaluation through final finish
- Wood Floor Surface Repairs – Putty, hard-wax repairs, and correcting common surface damage
- Selling the Service – Job selection, pricing, customer expectations, and presenting your options
Hands-On Training
A major portion of the class is hands-on. You’ll learn the one-day refinishing process by actually doing it—running the equipment, working with different screens and pads, performing surface repairs, prepping the floor, and applying professional finishes.
